BERGAMO - Raimondas Rumsas remains the man to beat in the Italian granfondo circuit. The former Lithuanian pro also took victory in the GF Felice Gimondi in Bergamo last Sunday, edging Matteo Podesta and teammate David Timothy Jones by 12 seconds after 165km. The leading trio had a four minute advantage over a quintet, led by Andrea Ciavatti.In the women's event Monica Bandini scored a win over Monia Gallucci.
There were over 5000 participants in Bergamo. Next weekend the Prestigio series continues with the Nove Colli in Cesenatico, the most popular event with 11000 riders.
